Revolver or Evolver

Revolver or Evolver

There are two kinds of people on this planet, revolvers and evolvers. Revolvers are people who rotate around past thoughts, mistakes, experiences, and knowledge. They are emotionally immature lacking the ability to think above what is common, in other words they lack independent thought. These people are needy, always complaining, seldom happy, lives in the past, regrets decisions made, and are unappreciative of their blessings.

They are usually blamers of life for their loneliness, depression, and boredom. They rebel against change (i.e growth) with every fiber of their being for fear of lack of control and unfamiliarity. Their attitudes regarding change is the reason they avoid spending time getting to know themselves emotionally and spiritually. Instead, they look to money, things, people, and circumstances to bring them genuine happiness which never happens.

Evolvers are people who are independent thinkers, seek new experiences and knowledge without hesitation. These people are rarely unhappy, instead they are joyous, excited, and fulfilled. They go through life with great interest and compassion towards others, making a point to focus on positive rather than the negative experiences.

Last, but not least, they understand the importance of knowing themselves emotionally and spiritually. When life throws them a curve ball they feel hopeful and determined, not helpless and lost. Ask them for the key to a happy life and they would tell you it's about attitude when faced with life's challenges.

My question to you is which person are you? This question's not as difficult to answer as people may think. I've discovered something in speaking with so many people about their outlooks on life. There are those who hide behind facts like being poor, unmarried, short, tall, Black, White, Baptist, Catholic, and the list goes on, to justify why they believe life is unfair. All along they're overlooking an important fact. Their attitudes color their perceptions ,which, plays a strong part in determining future circumstances.

The simple truth is, ones attitudes determines their outlook on life. If you spend your days seeking genuine happiness outside of yourself it will always be elusive. No matter how much money or things you have in your life you will never know real happiness. So spend this year discovering the vast frontier of your inner self, and you will find genuine joy for life and for being yourself.
